Best eSIM for USA from UK: Top Picks

Best Unlimited Data: Holafly USA — From £16

Holafly is the clear winner for unlimited data in the USA. Running on AT&T's extensive network — which covers 99% of Americans — you'll have reliable 5G and 4G LTE speeds from coast to coast. No data caps, no throttling, no fair usage worries.

At £16 for 5 days or £37 for 15 days, it's the best choice for UK travellers who need heavy data access. Think Google Maps navigation on road trips, video calling home, streaming in the hotel, and uploading to social media all day.

Holafly holds a 4.5/5 rating on TrustPilot from over 80,000 reviews.

Best Value: eSIMYat USA 10GB — £6.99

For UK travellers who want solid data without the unlimited price tag, eSIMYat's 10GB plan at £6.99 is exceptional value. Running on T-Mobile's 5G network, you'll get fast speeds across all 50 states.

10GB is enough for a two-week holiday with regular usage — maps, messaging, social media, emails, and video calls. The 30-day validity gives you flexibility, and top-ups are available if you run low.

Best for Short City Breaks: eSIMYat USA 5GB — £4.50

Popping to New York or Las Vegas for a long weekend? eSIMYat's 5GB for £4.50 with 15-day validity is all you need. That's less than a single day of EE roaming. You'll save money and have more than enough data for a 3-5 day trip.

UK Carrier Roaming in the USA: Why It's Not Worth It

Here's what UK carriers charge for daily USA roaming in 2026:

• EE: £5.56/day (applies to your UK allowance)

• Vodafone: £6.85/day

• Three: £5.00/day

• O2: £6.00/day

A 14-day American holiday on EE roaming costs £77.84 just for data access. eSIMYat's 10GB plan for the same trip? £6.99. That's a saving of over £70 — enough for a Broadway show ticket or a nice dinner in Manhattan.

Coverage: Where Do USA eSIMs Work?

Both AT&T and T-Mobile (the networks used by eSIM providers) offer near-total coverage across the United States:

• Major cities: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas — excellent 5G coverage

• National parks: Reliable 4G at popular parks like Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone (remote areas may have limited signal)

• Road trips: Strong highway coverage along major interstates (I-95, I-10, Route 66)

• Florida theme parks: Full coverage at Disney World, Universal Studios, and surrounding areas

• Hawaii: Good coverage on Oahu, Maui, and Big Island

Choosing the Right USA Data Allowance

Not sure how much data you'll need? Here's a rough guide based on real-world usage:

• Light usage (maps, messaging, emails): 500MB-1GB per day = 5GB plan for a week

• Moderate usage (social media, photos, video calls): 1-2GB per day = 10GB plan for a week

• Heavy usage (streaming, hotspot, remote work): 3GB+ per day = Unlimited plan

Our Verdict: Best USA eSIM for UK Travellers 2026

For unlimited peace of mind, Holafly's USA plan on AT&T is unbeatable. For the best value without unlimited data, eSIMYat's 10GB at £6.99 on T-Mobile is the top choice — it's 90% cheaper than UK carrier roaming and covers the whole country. Either way, buy and set up your eSIM before you fly — you'll be connected the moment you land at JFK, LAX, or Miami.
